Honoring the Hero Dogs of 9/11

Hartz | Hero dogs of 9/11

September 11th, 2001 will forever be etched in the hearts of American’s, and remembered as a day of both sacrifice and triumph. In the face of this disaster, not enough can be said about the individuals who risked their own lives to rescue those caught in the perilous aftermath of the Twin Tower wreckage. Among those honored for their courage and effectiveness are more than 300 rescue dogs that tirelessly searched for, rescued, and comforted victims without expecting anything in return. Looking back 10 years, it is with great respect for the accomplishments of the hero dogs of 9/11 that we sponsor the American Humane Association’s tribute to their courage and bravery.  Help us honor these remarkable Hero Dogs, as we celebrate the wonderfully unique relationship between people and dogs that can change lives, save lives, and touch our hearts forever.
